At Barking Mad Animal Refuge, we’re more than just an animal rescue – we’re a dedicated team of dog lovers on a mission to transform lives, one paw at a time. Founded on the belief that every dog deserves a chance at happiness, we’ve made it our purpose to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs facing adversity. From the streets of Texas to the loving homes across Canada, we’re bridging the gap between despair and hope for our furry friends.
Our journey began with a simple idea: to make a difference in the lives of dogs who have been abandoned, abused, or forgotten. Today, we’re proud to say that we rescue approximately 1,000 dogs annually, providing them with the medical care, love, and support they need to thrive. But we don’t stop there. For those dogs who need extra care – the seniors, the terminally ill, the differently-abled – we offer a lifelong sanctuary where they can live out their days in comfort and dignity. And for the fighters, the survivors of cruel fighting rings, we provide specialized rehabilitation and a safe haven for life.
